The Chicago Fire Juniors Florida Under 12 Girls team competed in the Nike Cup Championship this past weekend. The tournament was hosted by Florida Rush Soccer Club and the games were played at the Northwest Recreational Sports Complex in Apopka.
The Chicago Fire Juniors Florida Under 12 girls team competed in the Nike Cup Championship on May 19-20. The team scored nine goals in three pool play games while recording three shutouts.
The Fire beat FC United in the finals 2-1 after overcoming a 1-0 deficit early in the second half. The team is coached by Colm Hamill. Colm will be missed as this is his last tournament with the Fire before moving back to Boston.
Colm coached the girls to three championships and one runner-up finish in six tournaments over the last eight months.
The Fire players are Olivia Buschle, Riley Albanos, Acelya Aydogmus, Karleigh Acosta, Josie Buffington, Kendall Flaharty, Kyla Gill, Claire Noble, Morgan Parmalee, Alyssa Pilavis, Aryanna Saenz and Kalee Williams.
