EMERGING TALENT PROGRAM
Florida Fire Juniors last Fall 2012 launched the Emerging Talent Program in Southwest Florida. This initiative brings together some of the brightest young soccer players in Southwest Florida and expose them to a new, innovative and revolutionary approach to individual player training. The Emerging Talent program has 2 distinct features: Philosophy (what to coach?) and Pathway (how to coach?)
The Emerging Talent philosophy is a set of concepts that define the Chicago Fire Soccer Club’s attitude to working with each individual soccer player and follows a long term player development (LTPD) model. LTPD develops players from an early years ‘FUNdamental’ stage to ‘Training to Win’ for older aged players. ‘TRAIN LIKE A PRO TO PLAY LIKE A PRO’ is an overarching principle all Fire technical staff follow when coaching young players.
The Emerging Talent pathway: this is the practical application of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club’s long term player development model and highlights the steps a PLAYER, a COACH and a soccer CLUB can take to receive high quality programming. The Emerging Talent pathway has 4 levels: Club Talent Schools (CTS), Regional Talent Schools (RTS), Elite Performance Centers (EPC) and National Training Center (NTC).

The Club Talent Schools (CTS) offers training to the players in the club, improving their technical ability while allowing our club to offer year-round supplementary training. The Florida Fire Juniors will set up a location in our local community during the Fall and Spring.
The CTS is an individual training program specifically designed for current and aspiring competitive travel soccer players aged 7-14 (Boys & Girls) looking to further develop their skills. Organized by Florida Fire Juniors, the CTS is open to any community members who are looking for competitive supplementary soccer training above and beyond their practices with their local team. The program consists of up to 60 minutes of instructional coaching per week over 6 weeks and presents a perfect opportunity for soccer players to participate in a comprehensive supplementary training program. 2014 sessions will introduce iSoccer for your child to track their development.

The programs provide a great way to supplement the training of a recreational player that strives to further their development with the Florida Fire Juniors Pre-Academy Program. Often recreational programs do not provide professional coaches to teach players the basic of the game or the skills necessary to advance to the next level. Florida Fire Juniors offer recreational players another option to sample training in a professional environment. Activities will concentrate on technique and having fun. Training sessions are 60 min in duration and games are played within trainings.

Players age(s) 4 years to 6 years. The Sparks program is a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate training program offered to all players 4 and 6 years old. The program offers recreational players another option to sample training in a professional environment and a true first time fun experience to playing soccer. Activities will concentrate on technique and having fun. Training sessions are 60 minutes to an hour in duration and games are played within the sessions. Players should wear proper soccer equipment (shin guards, soccer socks, and if possible soccer specific shoes) and bring a ball.
The Florida Fire Juniors mission is to create a soccer experience that is unmistakably enjoyable for the both the child and family. Each activity directs players toward learning the fundamental aspects of the game appropriate for his/ her age and ability. Embracing the motto "Winning through Development", the program lays the foundation for young soccer players by tooling them with the basic skills necessary for success in future competition. In addition to targeting basic soccer skills, the program emphasizes coordination, balance and agility. The methods of instruction are designed to "unlock the game within the child" by disguising skills in imaginative activities, that teach through fun. The Chicago Fire Juniors’ curriculum builds from simple to complex over the course of a session and season.

What is the PRE-ACADEMY
The PRE-ACADEMY is a program administered by Florida Fire Juniors (FFJ) for athletes 7 to 10 year old who have participated in recreational programs and are looking to make the transition to the next level of soccer. Players will be exposed to a new and innovative approach to individual player training, giving them the necessary skills to make a transition to the Florida Fire Juniors Academy program.
What kind of commitment is

Florida Fire Juniors Academy Philosophy
The philosophy of the Florida Fire Juniors Academy is to give our young soccer players the best possible development opportunity in preparation for the rest of their soccer experience. During our Academy training program the Academy Director and his coaching staff will focus on enhancing our players footwork, skills, technical ability and their enjoyment the game. Our aim is to make all of our academy players familiarized and comfortable with a ball at their feet to create technically sound and creative soccer players.
Players of academy age are able to absorb positive habits and attitudes which create fantastic platforms for excellent development further down their soccer road. It enables coaches to develop a fun and positive atmosphere to develop creative skillful players. At the Florida Fire Juniors we stress player development vs results. It is important at the academy age that more importance is put on the technical and tactical development of the player rather than win at all cost mentality that can sometimes hamper players development. Success goes hand in hand with player and team development.
“Too often in this country, youth coaches sacrifice learning skills for winning games.” - Former USWNT player Mia Hamm.
