Florida Fire Juniors

Earlier this month the Florida Fire Juniors held our gently used soccer equipment drive at Florida Fire Juniors to collect gear for the Haitian Education Fund Project. Brad Hedrich, Dwight Morgan and myself, Rob Anderson, have been busy since from first week through to the 20th of December collecting used soccer gear from our members at FFJ training sessions for a very poor youth soccer club in Haiti. At the conclusion of the equipment drive I am very proud to announce that we have donated over 35 pairs of cleats, over 75 jerseys and numerous shin-guards, shorts, socks, back packs, coaching cones as well as 15 soccer balls!

Please understand these kids are playing with 1 or 2 soccer balls for 50 kids and NO cleats at all, not even jerseys. I really feel this was a great cause and well worth all the hard work. They are so grateful for the soccer equipment and in turn we were able to find a sponsor to cover the cost to ship everything out to Haiti in time for the kids to open on Christmas Day! We as a Club have now given over 50 kids in Haiti the chance to now play the beautiful game with cleats, shorts and jerseys!
  
 
Sophia Batard (Haiti's National Soccer team player), trainer of the group in Haiti extended a big thank you to the Club. "Hello, it's Sophia Batard, I wanted to thank you for the shoes that you sent for my little players, that really mean a lot to me and to them because the use to practicing barefoot, now they have a chance to wear cleats, I hope that is just the beginning of your support for us, those kids are really talented, by helping them now they can become great footballer, really thank you for all!"
