Florida Fire Juniors

The Florida Fire Juniors U17 Girls Premier are looking forward to an experience of a lifetime when they travel to the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region III Championships in Little Rock, Arkansas.  This trip marks the first time a Southwest Florida club has advanced to the Regional III Championships.

The Florida Fire Juniors U17 Girls Premier ranked #3 will be part of the pool of 12 State Cup Champions and Runner-Up teams from Region III representing Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Texas and Tennessee.

Drawn into Pool C, the girls will face Lady Lobos Rush Premier from Tennessee in their opener on Friday, June 19th. The Lady Lobos are ranked #16 in Region III, but ranked #2 in Tennessee will make this a good test for the girls.  Their second game on Saturday, June 20th will see them face Florida foe Tampa Bay United Premier who are ranked #1 in Region III.  Having lost 0-1 to TBU in the State Cup Final Four the girls are looking forward to another great battle. In their final group on Sunday, June 21st the girls will face Arkansas Comets Premier who are ranked #72 in Region III, but who won the Arkansas State Championship and ranked #1 in the state.  

Coach Chris Cashion, when asked about how he and the team will approach the weekend, stated "The girls are very honored to have this opportunity and look to compete against these top teams. Our goal is to make it out of the group stage and into the knockout round (Quarterfinals) as anything can happen from there." From everyone at the Florida Fire Juniors we wish the girls all the best this week as they put together final preparations and travel to Little Rock.  PLAY HARD and GO FIRE!!
