The FFJ Boys U12 Red, ranked 7th in Florida, open play on Friday morning versus CSA Predator Elite from North Carolina before finishing group play on Saturday with two games, FC Florida Elite and Weston FC Pre-Academy.
Speaking with head coach Tony Banks on his preparation and expectations for the team at the event, he went on to say, "We have been all working very hard at practice and throughout our league season so far, the boys are where they were this time last year so I expect a good level of play through this tournament." Banks went on to say, "The early part of this week we will be having two light practice sessions running over dead ball situations (throw-ins, free kicks, corners, resets and off-sides). From my experience, games can be won or lost from these situations. Overall we will all have fun and enjoy the experience of playing at a showcase tournament and as always when we have out of town tournament we always get together for a team event dinner."
Jarvis Banks, of the U12 Boys Red, when asked what he is looking forward to the most at the event stated, "I'm looking forward to staying at the same hotel that we stayed at when we were at the president day cup final. This hotel is very big and all the players have fun hanging around together. We all know that we are there to win and have fun playing at all tournaments so we have to follow the request of our coach on what we can do when we are not playing soccer, which is very hard when out of town with all my soccer buddies."
