Florida Fire Juniors Will Marciano and Miles Kohel
Prepare To Play With CFJ Elite Teams

This past summer the Chicago Fire Juniors held their annual ID Camp in Chicago, IL where selected athletes from all Fire Juniors affiliates attended the weekend event and were then selected to the Chicago Fire Juniors Elite teams.  Fire Juniors Elite teams participate at various showcase events around the United States throughout the season with a exceptional list of athletes and coaches.  Two Florida Fire Junior players, Will Marciano (BU13 Premier) and Miles Kohel (BU14 Premier), were selected to play with the Chicago Fire Juniors Elite BU13 and BU14 respectively at this weekends Disney Junior Showcase.

When speaking with Miles on expectations playing with the BU14 Fire Juniors Elite team, he stated, "My expectations heading into the tournament is hopefully to be able to win games and progress to the knockout round.  After we have a scrimmage vs. Florida Rush and two training sessions the following day, I feel we will be more than ready to win because this is a very talented group of players that are capable of beating very good teams."

Asked what he thought of the ID Camp he attended in the summer, Miles went on to say, "What stood out to me the most during the ID Camp in June was the professionalism carried out by the coaches and the rest of the staff. I really felt like a young professional during the camp.  The coaching during training was great, but the classroom sessions to me were the best.  I got a lot out of the note taking and observing in the classroom."

"I expect to be playing holding midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.  I plan to contribute to the team by first defending because this is a very defensive-minded team.  Once we get the ball and are on the attack, I want to be able to help and be involved in as many goals as possible, which will be needed if we want to win." Miles stated.

When speaking with Will Marciano on his expectations playing with the
BU13 Fire Juniors Elite team, he stated "Being selected for the Chicago Fire Juniors Elite SC was a huge honor and a great opportunity. I am extremely excited for this amazing chance to play for an elite soccer club and I am sure it will be a good challenge and a wonderful learning experience. I know that our team is very skillful and hardworking, and I know we will give it our all in this upcoming event. The organization and plans for the trip are outstanding, which truly makes us feel like 'young professionals'. I am looking forward to an excellent time and an amazing opportunity at this event."

"My preferred position is the number 9, or a striker. I think my size and speed fit well as a striker, which is why I am able to play the position so well. Although my right foot is my preferred foot, I am able to dribble and/or finish with either foot. I believe my creativity and awareness are quite sharp, which is also helpful as a striker. At the event, I would much prefer to play in my normal striker position, but I am happy to play anywhere I am needed." Will said.

Speaking about the ID Camp this past summer, Will went on to say, "The Chicago Fire Juniors Elite ID Camp was an amazing opportunity. I was very fortunate to partake in it and I had a great experience during my time in Chicago. The standard of play and competition was very high, and I had a great time testing my ability there. Not only was the on-field play great, but the classroom sessions were also very good and extremely helpful to my game."

"The organization of the camp was incredible, and the staff there really made me feel like a young professional. The opportunity was just outstanding and I was honored to be a part of it. I hope I can experience it again because I had a great time and it was extremely beneficial to my soccer career. I would encourage anyone selected to participate, because it is a unique experience that will definitely improve your overall game." Will said.

On the behalf of the Florida Fire Juniors we wish you both all the best this weekend!
