HEADS UP Concussion in Youth Sports is a free, online course available to coaches, parents, and others helping to keep athletes safe from concussion. It features interviews with leading experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling storytelling to help you recognize a concussion and know how to respond if you think that your athlete might have a concussion.
Once you complete the training and quiz, you can print out a certificate, making it easy to show your league or school you are ready for the season.
US Youth Soccer offers several helpful resources including sample lesson plans for training for players as young as U6, basic playing rules, video demonstrations and instruction of soccer fundamentals, and more. The United State Soccer Federation is the leader in highest authority in US Soccer. Their coaching education programing includes certification and licensing as well as the "Best Practices" guides to better prepare coaches that are the first line of developing players. From US Soccer.com; " U.S. Soccer’s Coaching Education Department has released a new publication designed to give youth and junior level soccer coaches in the United States a set of fundamental tools to help open up the game of soccer to young players in ways that celebrate the sport’s spontaneous qualities. The 70-page “Best Practices for Coaching Soccer in the United States.”
This is an excellent coaches resources to learn and observe from some of the world's most popular and largest club's youth programs like Inter Milan, Chelsea, and Valencia (to name a few). The website has material from youth teams as young as U9 and training from the reserve and professional sides. It has practices plans and videos to help coaches plan for their team's session.
This is UEFA's online coaching tools for youth coaches and players. It shows highlights from European play and from the continents's stars. Its offers video on highlights, skills, and drills for coaches.
At Chicago Fire Juniors, we are always looking to cultivate a platform which allows our players to learn and develop to the best of their ability. Our coaching curriculum is an integral part of our daily and yearly operations. The topics within this should form the basis of each and every practice throughout the season.
